The Future Field is an experimental drawing based on magnetic fields: a balloon with magnets inside is attracted by the power of the field while the charcoal traces down on the canvas. The canvas has magnets behind it. A turntable supports the back of the canvas to refresh the magnetic field which avoids the stable attraction that ceases the tracing. The Future Field rises the question of artist's agency and sole authority in art-marking by minimizing the human agent’s intervention in art.
